Geologically, Indonesia is a converging point of 3 main tectonic plates that cause the complex geological conditions. However, the condition is an advantage for Indonesia because it produces the geological diversities of Indonesia and many also become a geological heritage because of its value is so meaningful to humans and other living things. This geoheritage must be preserved through various ventures such as the establishment of good governance and regulation.

Based on these conditions, the Geological Survey Center undertook a breakthrough by creating a Technical Standards Guideline for Inventory Geological Diversity and Geological Heritage Identification and Technical Guidance of Geological Heritage Resource Assessment that  was officially launched on Wednesday, November 15, 2017 at the Auditorium of Geological Agency, Bandung. These two handbooks, furthermore, are addressed to the relevant Local Government and Educational Institutions whose areas are assessed as having geological heritages. So all processes are not only carried out by the Geological Survey Center, and the process of inventory and the acquisition of geological heritage will run faster.
