The arrival of UGG Assessors from UNESCO in early August is warmly welcomed by a group of citizens calling themselves PAPSI (Paguyuban Alam Pakidulan Sukabumi), a community group led by Endang Sutisna has been in existence and engaged in the development of the Ciletuh-Palabuhanratu National Geopark since 2013. Filled by a group of local residents from the subdistrict ciemas and surrounding areas who concern about the development and conservation of nature in the Ciletuh-Palabuhanratu National Geopark.
Many things are prepared by PAPSI, start from the arrangement area in Ciemas, until the arrangement of the secretariat office PAPSI into a mini museum or arboretum from the Ciletuh-Palabuhanratu National Geopark area in eight districts. Endang Sutisna said, “This is the real proof of our readiness to welcome the arrival of UGG assessors from UNESCO and always support the positive things that must be in the development and preservation of Geopark Ciletuh-Palabuhanratu.
The arboretum at the PAPSI secretariat office contains about a collection of research literature and the excellent potentials of geo-diversity, bio-diversity and culture diversity in the Geopark Ciletuh-Palabuhanratu area. In addition to functioning as a mini museum or arboretum, PAPSI secretariat also serves as a geopark information geopark culinary center such as black rice and eel.
