Geological conditions of the National Geopark-Palabuhanratu area are known to have useful information and knowledge in earth science that is useful in various applications. One of them is the knowledge of tectonic evolution of the western part of Indonesia and the sedimentation process that will be applied in oil and gas exploration.
This is what drives the group from Pertamina EP Cepu to visit Geopark Ciletuh-Palabuhanratu on Friday, January 27, 2018. Besides enjoying the natural beauty, they also want to know the geological condition of Ciletuh-Palabuhanratu area in search of oil and gas in Java Island. Knowledge of geopark development is also a point to be gained from this visit.
Accompanied by geological interpreters from Geopark Management Agency Ciletuh-Palabuhanratu, Pertamina EP Cepu entourage visited several objects such as PAPSI Conservation Museum, Panenjoan View Point, Sodong Waterfall, and Puncak Darma. The rainy and windy weather did not dampen their passion in enjoying the journey and learning it. The atmosphere becomes warm when geological explanations can be obtained while drinking coffee and eating the original Sukabumi durian.
This one-day visit is one of the activities in a series of corporate meeting events held in Sukabumi City. After the last explanation at Puncak Darma, the group of Pertamina EP Cepu returned to Sukabumi City by passing the new path of Palangpang-Loji and enjoying the natural beauty of Geopark Ciletuh-Palabuhanratu as the closing of the event.
